Our Story

We’re the Garvin family, and we’re so glad you’re here.

What started as a dream on a snowy February walk has grown into a family passion. We’ve learned that dormancy isn’t the end — it’s where new seasons begin. Every spring, summer, and fall reminds us that God is faithful, and His creation is worth caring for.

Today, three generations of Garvins work together to grow apples with intention — not just to fill baskets, but to fill tables and create memories. Whether you’re visiting the orchard, shopping at the farmers market, or sharing a pie at home, our hope is that you taste the joy we find in growing what’s good.

We’d love for your family to fall in love with Minnesota apples just like ours has.

From our family to yours.

An older man with a beard, wearing a cap and sunglasses, stands next to a large apple tree with many ripening apples in an orchard.

He founded the orchard in 1985 and has spent the last 35 years growing it. We thank Richard for his investment, foresight, and care that has allowed the orchard to prosper.

Gilchrist Orchard would not be what it is today without the hard work and dedication of Richard Brown.

Our Orchard Family

We wouldn't be able to operate without our dedicated team of workers. This crew spends their days with us during harvest season picking, washing, and sorting our apples. We are so grateful for their determination and can-do attitudes.
